Ensuring access to all

We use social marketing to ensure that people have the option to buy high-quality, sexual and reproductive healthcare products in a location that’s convenient.

In the most rural and remote regions across Ethiopia, people can experience great difficulty trying to access safe family planning services. Our social marketing programme brings quality family planning products closer to the women of Ethiopia. It also provides an opportunity to offer information and referrals to our other services. This includes the distribution of high quality products for abortion using medication using Combipack and Misoprostol through pharmacies.


In August 2012 we launched a voucher programme intended to reach underserved communities.

The scheme is aims to help those with the highest unmet need, particularly the youth, by removing the financial burden to access sexual and reproductive health (RH) and family planning (FP) services. Through the introduction of the eVoucher program, we broadened our reach to the underserved population of Ethiopia. Distribution of vouchers made possible via mobile phones utilizing SMS technology. The rapid growth in mobile phone ownership in Ethiopia presents an opportunity to greatly increase the scalability of innovative health service delivery.
